Playing the piano is not as difficult as you might think. No matter what your age, background or skill level, it's never too late to learn piano.

I first started playing the piano when I was about 10 and encouraged (more like forced) by my parents to learn the piano. Let me tell you that no one can ever force you because you must have the desire to learn piano by yourself and the desire to learn the music that you want to play.

When you first learn to play the piano by a qualified teacher they traditionally follow a certain strict order that he or she thinks is best. This is probably the most discouraging phase if anyone is to learn piano..

My first song was 'Middle C' where I had to place my right-hand on the white keys of the piano starting with my thumb on middle C. Then I had to press this one note in time to the music sheet. One hand, one note, one rhythm..boring :)

If anyone is to learn piano it should always inspire them. If you're a piano novice and still want to learn by yourself think of a song that you would love to learn and play and from ear, try and pick out the single line melody. With your left hand use one or two base notes to compliment the melody. This works for most modern popular songs and is a great starting point for anyone wanting to learn piano.
